Welcome to our Community!

from wilson farms lot by you.Really. You ARE welcome here, regardless of who you are or what you believe. Nobody is too rich or too poor, too good or too bad, too dark or too light, too–well, you get the idea. We want Lafayette Ave Presbyterian Church to reflect the diversity of the Elmwood Village, and then some. We meet together every Sunday morning at 10am.

As you can see, we are a church. That might be scary to some people, and we regret that. We don’t want to be scary. We’re just a group of people that wants to practice the way that Jesus lived. None of us have gotten it perfect yet, which is why we keep practicing.

We hope you’ll join us as we practice. We won’t pressure you to pick up snakes. We won’t guilt you out of your money. We won’t make you do anything you don’t want to, because we don’t think that is the kind of thing Jesus would do. We know that it feels goofy joining a spiritual community, and because we welcome everyone, we can’t promise you won’t meet any nuts here. However, we do believe that a person can know God here, and that knowing God is worth the risk.

Some people think that Buffalo is done. Some people think that the church is done. The people of Lafayette Ave. Presbyterian Church aren’t like that. We have hope for the Church, and hope for Buffalo. We are a Presbyterian church, yes, but we also hope to be a faithful church, a practicing church, a welcoming church, a growing church, a Buffalo church and an Elmwood Village Church. Lafayette Ave Presbyterian church is a special group of people. We hope you will check us out.

A good place to start is by attending Sunday worship. Our Gatherings page will tell you about what we do on Sundays.
