Sermon: Cast out!
Last week’s sermon is available here.
(apologies for posting it late. I thought I put it up on Monday)
A few people have asked, “so what comes next?”
Christian living is not easy. Standing with the cast out, enemy-love, is at the heart of our gospel. At the same time, but both Christ and Paul said that sometimes, removing a person from Christian community is the right thing to do, as a last resort, with the ultimate goal of restoration.
I think this sermon touched a few “hot buttons.” What do you think? Was it true to the text? Is Girard’s analysis fair? How can we stand with the outcast?
For the next three weeks, we will be looking at Genesis 22:1-14. This text is so challenging that three weeks might not be enough. Don’t miss it!
