Fundraing Party at Cole’s
Sept 26, 7-9 at Cole’s, featuring the Theresa Quinn Duo
Maybe you have never stopped to imagine what we contribute to the life of this community. Not only does our historic building house our own programs for children and adults, but we also provide:
- A place for an average of 150 people in need to get a hot lunch, five times a week.
- Our playground, the only playground open to the public in the immediate area.
- a meeting place for 3 AA groups, an NA group, two block clubs, scouts, local businesses and non-profits.
- A home for a fantastic, independent preschool, The Right Place for Kids, as well as the Les Amis Fencing Club and The Larkin Center, a center for life-long learning.
- Spiritual care (including weddings, funerals, or just a listening presence) for all people, regardless of circumstance.
The generosity of our congregation and our shared users, while significant, is not currently enough to meet our modest expenses. While some congregations in this situation have closed their doors, we believe that it would be bad for everybody in the Elmwood Village, regardless of faith, if we did.
Instead, we are throwing a party! We hope that you will join us at Cole’s on Sept 26 for our “Evening on the Avenue,” fund raising party, from 7-9. Tickets are $25, and include wings, beef on weck, desserts, beer, wine, soda, and coffee. Entertainment will be provided by the Theresa Quinn Duo.
The evening will also feature a basket auction. Your tax deductible gift would support us, and share your good name with all who attend the party. Email Drew if you have an item or would like a ticket.
